neoGASTRIC Database Locked and Analysis Underway

We are delighted to announce that the neoGASTRIC trial database has now been locked. This means that all the trial information has been finalised and the research team are now working to understand what the findings mean for babies, families and neonatal care.

This is such a major achievement, with almost 7,500 babies taking part in the trial across hospitals in the UK and Australia.

The neoGASTRIC results meeting will take place on 8 October 2026, when the findings from the trial will be shared and discussed.

Reaching this stage would not have been possible without the support and commitment of so many people. We would like to thank every baby and family who took part, as well as the nurses, doctors, research staff and hospital teams who supported the trial.
