Professor Marian Knight has appeared in Channel 4's Dispatches Collection, in an episode titled 'The Black Maternity Scandal', which explores the fact that Black women are four times more likely than White women to die during pregnancy and childbirth and up to six weeks after, as reported in Saving Lives, Improving Mothers' Care: Lessons learned to inform maternity care from the UK and Ireland Confidential Enquiries into Maternal: Deaths and Morbidity 2015-17.

During her interview with presenter Rochelle Humes, Marian, the lead for MBRRACE-UK, a research team who collects all maternal death data said,

We examine the deaths of every woman who dies in the UK. For about half of those woman, if their care had been different, their outcome might have been different.

The episode also covers new research into disparities that will be led by the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit's NIHR Policy Research Unit in Maternal and Neonatal Health and Care.
