Miranda Geddes-Barton MbCHB MSc MRCOG

Biography

Miranda's DPhil project investigates how socioeconomic deprivation affects the risk of maternal morbidity using the Hospital Episode Statistics database. Miranda is supervised by Professor Marian Knight at the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit NPEU and Raphael Goldacre at the Big Data Institute (BDI).

Prior to commencing her doctoral studies, Miranda worked as a foundation doctor and then as an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar in South London. She completed her medical degree at the University of Edinburgh. She holds an MSc in Global Health Science and Epidemiology from the University of Oxford, and an MA in Biomedical and Health Care Ethics from the University of Leeds and the DTM&H from the University of Glasgow.
