Supporting inclusivity

The MAMA Study aims to ensure that women from all backgrounds have the opportunity to learn about and take part in the research if they are eligible. We recognise that barriers such as language, communication needs, cultural differences, disability and health literacy can make participation more difficult. This page brings together resources to help site teams support inclusive recruitment and participation.

Interpreter and translation support

Good practice

Women should not be excluded from the MAMA Study because English is not their first language. With appropriate translated materials, professional interpreter support and local processes, many women can be supported to make an informed decision about participation.
