Dr Oliver Rivero-Arias MSc, DPhil
Associate Professor in Health Economics - Senior Health Economist
Oliver has more than 15 years experience in health economics and his research interests concern the methodology and application of economic evaluation.
Oliver Rivero-Arias joined the NPEU as the Senior Health Economist in November 2013. He previously held appointments at the Health Economics Research Centre (HERC), University of Oxford during the period 2002-2013. His main research interest concerns dealing with missing data in cost-effectiveness analysis, the economic implications of cost-effectiveness analysis alongside multinational clinical trials, the development of algorithms to map available data into quality of life measures, and the valuation of health for decision-making. He will be translating his experience in these areas into child and maternal health at the NPEU over the next years. He is actively involved in teaching and postgraduate supervision, and was an associate editor of BMC Medical Research Methodology during 2011-2015.
