MaatHRI: Comparing the blood coagulation profile of pregnant women with and without anaemia
A cross-sectional study of coagulation parameters in 1200 pregnant women, 600 with haemoglobin <10g/dl (anaemia group) and 600 with haemoglobin ≥10g/dl (no-anaemia group).
The objectives are:
- To estimate the difference in blood coagulation parameters between anaemia group and no-anaemia group during the third trimester of pregnancy.
- To examine the relationship of blood coagulation parameters with haemoglobin and postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) in anaemic and non-anaemic pregnant women.
- To estimate the potentially adequate dose of tranexamic acid (TXA) for the treatment of PPH in pregnant women with moderate-severe anaemia.
