Epidemiologist / Health Services Researcher
Yangmei studied Preventive Medicine at Peking University in China before moving to the UK. She was awarded a Shell Centenary Scholarship to complete her Mphil in Epidemiology at the University of Cambridge, and subsequently funded by a Churchill Studentship for her PhD in Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Cambridge.
Yangmei relocated from “the other place” to Oxford to join the Unit as an epidemiologist/health services researcher after her PhD. She has worked with the Policy Research Unit in Maternal Health & Care on the Birthplace national prospective cohort study and is now working on a project looking at ethnic variations in infant mortality and other birth outcomes using routine data sources.
