Su Mon Latt MBBS, MPH

Biography

Su Mon joined the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU) and Oriel College in October 2019 as a DPhil student in Population Health. Her research is focused on exploring the longer-term physical and psychosocial consequences of post-partum haemorrhage on women and their family members. Su Mon is supervised by Dr. Rachel Rowe, Professor Jenny Kurinczuk, and Professor Fiona Alderdice. Her DPhil research is supported by the Jardine Foundation Scholarship.

Before joining NPEU, Su Mon worked as a Gender-based Violence programme officer at the United Nations Population Fund in Myanmar, where she helped women and girls who experience violence to access non-judgemental, survivor-centred, and multi-sectoral services. Su Mon has almost five years of working experience in the field of public health including sexual and reproductive health, health equality and gender-based violence, working with UN, INGO and academic institutions. Previously, Su Mon completed a Master of Public Health (First Class Honors) at the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Medicine 1 in Myanmar.
